These are our new Arrowhead Mini spalls of KnapEasy. These are ideal for knappers who specifically want to make hunting-style arrowheads and find that the KnapEasy Original Spalls are a little too big for their liking. The value in these smaller versions is that the dimensions are much closer to those of arrowheads, and save time and reduce the amount of material required to thin the larger spalls into proper arrowhead shape and size. We still recommend the original-sized spalls, or the larger mix spalls for beginner knappers who want more material to practice and learn thinning, but these are perfect for making hunting points and require much less percussion reduction.
We are currently only offering these in our Buffalo Jump color as we test out the popularity among our customers. These make excellent sharp hunting points as seen in use on the HuntPrimitive YouTube Channel.
Below you will see photos of these new Mini – KnapEasy spalls next to the original sized spalls, showing both overall size and thickness. Each spall is ideally sized to make hunting points as shown below. Sold by the “pack” not individually.
Note: The outside of KnapEasy spalls appear coarse, but are much slicker on the inside! (Just like natural heat treated knapping stones)
