Description
“Thonotosassa” Originates from the Seminole-Creek language, meaning “Flint is there” or “Place of flint”. The Thonotosassa knives are based on the stemmed-archaic knife blades associated with the site around Lake Thonotosassa.
These are similar to our Deer Skinner knives and function in the same fashion. The difference is that the Thonotosassa blades are inset into a socketed Cedar wood handle. They are glued in place with pine pitch glue and no bindings are used in the haft. This creates a slick fit and transition between blade and handle. The red and white-dot paint scheme is something we do here at HuntPrimitive and is inspired from our Bison Bow model. These are a great representation of Archaic-Stemmed style of knives. They are available with or without a sheath with your choice of stone for the blade.
