Description
This Osage stave is about 70″ long and fully seasoned, ready to work. I recently chased the ring on the back (feel free to chase another if it makes you feel more comfortable.). It is approximately 2″ x 2″ in width and height. This one has some twist to it and a couple good sized knots (one knot is pretty safe in the handle area). This one will actually make a cool looking and hard shooting bow. It just needs someone to heat it up and work the twist out of it after it is roughed out. This one has a lot of little snake to it and has some tough interlocking grain, so a little care should be taken during the reduction stage. The interlocking grain makes it a little tougher to work, but generally makes for a durable and hard shooting bow. It’s a great project for someone who doesn’t mind the extra thinning and straightening work.

We currently have various bow staves available for sale. Generally, we are not a stave supplier and don’t offer staves for sale. However, we have cleaned out our stave room and have many that we are willing to sell. It is important to note that we don’t consider any of these to be premium staves (as the price reflects. Premium osage staves often sell for $300-$500 plus shipping.) While these are not being sold as premium staves, they most certainly each have a bow in them, and the pictures and descriptions are as accurate as possible. So why are we selling them? Very simply, yes, they will make a bow, but each of these is not up to the standard of a premium/custom HuntPrimitive bow. These staves will make fine bows for hobby bow-makers and those who enjoy a bit of character in their selfbow. Many of these staves will require some heat manipulation after they are roughed out.

Shipping & Non-Return Policy: Please note that shipping staves has become very expensive. Many staves cost $80 or more to ship. We have included a flat shipping rate to the cost of the stave (to anywhere in the USA). All stave sales are final, so please take careful note of each picture and description before purchasing. It is far too expensive to ship staves to and from to offer returns. If we did, the shipping to and from would cost more than the actual stave! So please note that we will not accept returns or refunds for staves. Stave sales are final.
Shipping of multiple staves can be combined. If you purchase 2 or more staves at one time, we will package them up and get them in the mail, and any extra shipping collected than what we accounted for will be returned to your card or Paypal account within a few days. Often, it isn’t much more expensive to ship 3 or 4 staves than just a single stave. So yes, we will send you a refund on the combined stave shipping once we have them packaged up and set up for delivery. You can ultimately get a better bang for your buck by purchasing more than one at a time. Shipping cannot be combined with other orders from the website as staves will ship separately.
