Description
We get a lot of requests for buying raw shafts, so we have made them available to folks who want to tackle their own arrow builds. These measure a minimum of 33 inches long and come in a 25 pack. These are raw, non-straightened, non-spined shafts.
We want to always be very transparent regarding arrow shafts. There is a tremendous amount of time invested in sourcing, grading, trimming, and sorting shafts. These shafts are likely more expensive than people would have guessed, but the large amount of time required to provide a quality material dictates what the cost has to be. The HuntPrimitive shop actually takes a pay cut on shaft days, yet, we want to be able to be a source where customers can get what they are looking for. These are from the same exact stock that we build our arrows from. We don’t top grade for ourselves here at HuntPrimitive, and then sell the leftovers to customers ~ No sir. We randomly select each shaft from our own barrel of arrow making shafts.
We sell these in packs of 25 because there is no way of accurately guessing spine weights on raw shafts. You never really know what spine you are getting until the straightening and node grinding process is complete. So, expect a wide range of spines to come from a pack of raw shafts. We try to leave the shafts as long as possible so you have some wiggle room on spine since using more of the skinny side of the shaft generally produces a lighter spine, while a stiffer spine can be achieved by favoring more of the thicker end of each shaft. Many archers (including my own personal builds) can shoot a wide variety of spine weights, so these may be a good option for builders who don’t require spine matched sets.  If you would like to order these same shafts, already straightened, nodes sanded, and spine matched, click here.Â
We also have some bundles sorted out that will likely produce spine weights over 40# and bundles that are thinner shafts that will likely produce spines under 40#
