These 15lbs Boxes of easy to work rock are specifically selected for beginner Flintknappers. The have 10lbs of high quality spalls of our easier to work stone choices, a few handfuls of arrowhead sized flakes, and a couple clunkies. These beginner Flintknapping boxes are essentially the same rock choices as used in our tool & rock combo kits. So, if you are looking for tools as well, check out those combo kits at the previous link. These boxes are for folks looking for great beginner rock but already have tools.
The small arrowhead flakes are perfect for tons of pressure flaking practice and making arrowheads. The clunkies are perfect for beating up while you practice your percussion hits and angles while saving your best spalls for once you’ve got a feel for the boppers. If you are already comfortable with your percussion knapping, the clunkies can be saved until the end and act as challenging pieces to increase your skill range (as seen in this video).
