Imagine that feeling of walking up to a deer, elk, boar, or bear that you killed with bow, arrow, & stone point that you made with your own hands. Those are the dreams that the HuntPrimitive Experience facilitates.
Available dates can be seen and chosen in the Available Dates field. Classes are booked as a 1-on-1 or a 2-on-1 (bring a buddy) experience with Ryan Gill. You will have the entire weekend and undivided attention to yourself or yourself and your chosen friend. We do not double-book weekends. You will have the weekend and guest house to yourself(s)! Once you book the dates, we will reach out and discuss what you would like to cover in your custom class. We can build bows, knap arrowheads, make stone knives, build arrows, atlatls, make fire, pottery, or any combination that fits within the time frame. The weekend is yours to decide the curriculum that best fits your needs. (**see hunts lower on this page) Currently 1-on-1 classes are $3500 for the weekend. If you “bring a buddy” the cost is $5000 for the weekend ($2500 per person (save$1,000 each)
The courses will be taught either outside, under our workshop pole barn, or in our heated/air conditioned workshop. Class sizes are kept to 1 or 2 students (*to book special 3-5 student custom classes with your friends see below). With 1-2 student classes, each student receives optimal attention and instruction. The HuntPrimitive Experience isn’t about filling seats. It’s ~about curating experience, opportunity, and building success stories.
-Our Goal here at HuntPrimitive is to sculpt primitive builders & hunters! While each class will be geared around relaxion and an enjoyable weekend getaway, the top goal is to help get you where YOU want to be with our own primitive building & hunting adventures! With 1 on 1 / 2 on 1 class sizes, there will be more focus on the individual’s needs.
Classes are booked and paid-in-full right here on this page. Cancellations & refunds (minus 3.5% transaction fees) are accepted only before 30 days of the class. Otherwise no refunds are given after 30 days prior to the class or for no-shows. ** If you would like to book a special 3-5 person class, email huntprimitive@gmail.com with what you would like the class to encompass and we can get you a price quote and time scheduled.
Each long-weekend workshop begins Thursday evening with a crock-style dinner ready for your casual arrival. Most Classes begin Friday morning, and finish Sunday afternoon (guests may stay through Sunday night to leave Monday morning). These are all-inclusive workshops where Home Cooked meals and lodging are provided to each student in the privacy of our dedicated guest house. Rooms include beds & linens, endless hot water, and central heat and air conditioning. The mornings include a casual, continental style breakfast. While you work with Ryan during the day, lunches will be prepared and served. After an enjoyable afternoon of comradery and working on projects, Dinner will be served to finish out the evening. All materials, food, drinks, snacks, lodging, and housekeeping are included throughout the stay. Just bring yourself, your travel bag, and any tools or gear you wish to bring/utilize. Please let us know of any food allergies, intolerances, or dislikes upon booking so that we can make the appropriate accommodations.
**Hunts: Many people want to book primitive hunts with Ryan. This is a possibility but incurs additional costs from the Hunting Ranch. To inquire about hunts email HuntPrimitive@gmail.com before booked dates. Typically, Hunts require a day of gear refinement before the hunt begins. We want to make sure you have all your gear up to snuff before taking after game (typically feral hogs). We have opportunities for all skill ranges including both free-range and “inside the wire” opportunities based on your individual goals. The Ranch lodging and fees are in addition to HuntPrimitive’s class fees. Current pricing for the Ranch is $350 per person per night, $395 for meat hogs, $595 for trophy boars (prices subject to change) Other animals available as well (sheep, goats, bison, deer, antelope, etc).
